Eden Butler Dishes on Her 2016 Plans

Author Eden Butler pops in today to chitchat about her writing life. Also be sure to get Eden's latest, Catching Serenity, expected release date March 22, 2016.

It began with a look.

Just one, thrown my way. A mad, dizzying rush of desire cracking across the patio, bouncing around my friends, ignoring everything but the heat bubbling between his eyes and mine.

That’s when Quinn O’Malley came into my life.

We were inevitable.

We were senseless.

He wrecked me.

He saved me.

I still haven’t recovered.

Sayo McIntyre didn’t want the complications that came with Quinn O’Malley.

But life doesn’t care what we want. It gives us what we need.

CATCHING SERENITY is the last full-length novel in the Serenity Series.

What about your plans for 2016 make you excited to share with your readers?

Eden: I’m working on two separate projects with a couple of my author friends that I hope will both challenge me and entertain my readers. They are in two different genres so I’m looking forward to branching out a bit.

Are there any traditions that you do before and/or after you finish writing your book?

Eden: Yes, drink lots and lots of Moscato before and after. And during. Only kidding. I tend to stick with outlining then getting the opening down. Once I have it settled then the rest of the story tends to fall into place, but that opening needs to be perfected (or at least in fighting shape) before I can continue writing. I have a real problem with handing over my manuscripts to my editor when they haven’t been rewritten a few times.

Every book has a special place in our hearts as writers. What about your book earns that special place?

Eden: Oh goodness, THIN LOVE, definitely. It took me several months and about twenty years to write that book. It was very personal because some of those conversations and behavior Keira and Kona displayed came either from my own personal history or from my friend’s. It was a very cathartic book to write and helped me to exorcise a lot of demons. Also, Kona Hale is beautiful. Any woman with a heartbeat would love writing him.

Author Bio: Eden Butler is an editor and writer of Romance, Suspense, Mystery and SciFi and Fantasy novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum.
When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden edits, reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.
She is currently imprisoned under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana.
